Almost all of the children are out of the house. Io and Smithy are living in a small apartment with their new twins, Calvin and Claudette, and their son, Russ.

Both Abe and Anneliese married- not love matches by a longshot, Anne going with a stuffy but polite Law Clerk [1926] and Abe with a would-be spinster farmer's daughter [1928]. Neither are unhappy, however, as they both keep a roof over their heads [Abe in a small farmhouse with a few sheep, chickens, cows and the such, and Anne in a townhouse in the city] and food on their tables.

Unfortunately, in 1925, Leo ran away with Alice and Gabe. Little is known of their whereabouts, except that they suspect them to be living with Gabe and a new baby in a boarding house in the city. Everybody is livid at Leo for making such a bad descision, and nobody has spoken to him since the incident.
