[Opinions] Re: Phineas
Phineas and Barnaby reminds me of P. T. Barnum, the greatest business man ever and one of my personal heroes. I don't automatically think of Julia Roberts' son. I'm reminded of A Separate Peace, in which he was nicknamed Finny, but when my sister was reading that book, I thought Phineas was pronounced "Finny". It wasn't until Julia Roberts had her twins that I heard "Fi-ne-us" and I was like, "Hrm? No, it's Finny!" I have a character named Phineas now and I have to force myself to pronounce it correctly each time, because he's definitely not a Finny. That was a long roundabout to say that I like a name.Phineas Calix is sounding pretty cool right now.
