Not at all complicated, and your guess is close. The mayt bit is fine; however, in UK English the -land is more like -lind, with the vowel being unaccented and the final -d almost disappearing.
Your version sounds American when I say it in my head: so it really depends, I suppose, on where in the English-speaking world you are.

I'm American and I'd say it exactly how you describe. Although my accent is notorious for dropping consonants and slurring vowels.
