According to the "Choosing Baby's Name" by Axiom, 1991.
Shari is the Hungarian form of Sarah. Which is Hebrew for
'princess'.

As being Hhungarian I must say it's not. Sára is the Hungarian form of Sarah. Sári is a pet form, but cannot be given as a first name on its own.
