If this is an English surname, and I'm not convinced that it is, then it would likely have identified someone from a place in Norfolk called Inland. The only Inlander I've found reference to on the internet is an English painter called Henry Inlander. If the name is English it must be very rare.
I can't help thinking that the name has a Norden or Scandinavian look.
