It's a word, not a name to me. "Handsome" or "Boyfriend" seems a terribly odd thing to call a person...particularly the boyfriend meaning, as that's used in English. It also sounds just insubstantial. I would so much prefer Robert nn Bo, pronounced pretty much the same.
