[Opinions] Re: York?
in reply to a message by Sabrina Fair
All I can think of is this song we used to sing at camp called "The Grand Old Duke of York."
The Grand Old Duke of York,
he had ten thousand men,
he marched them up the hill
and then he marched them down again.
So when you're up you're up,
and when you're down you're down,
and when you're only halfway up,
you're neither up nor down.
Then I think of yorkies, the dogs. And then I think of how it rhymes with pork. And if I try to picture a child named York, I picture an annoyingly pretentious kid. So I guess I don't like it. Although the song is fun to sing.
