AD: Morgan Isabel – Daughter of Jess, 4 months old, American, father left upon learning of Jess’s pregnancy
AD: Ashley Dorothea – Daughter of Greta, 3 months old, American, conceived when Greta was raped
AD/AD/AS: Ansa Elina/ Eeva Hannele/ Leevi Aleksi – Children of Paiva, 3 months old, Finnish, father abandoned their father when he found out she was pregnant
Whew! it's been a BIG year with Sander and I taking in 27 kids, and we now have 11 adopted grandchildren. Needless to say with 42 people now in our family we're VERY busy.
Ash and Bryn, both now 19, and their daughter Leslie have moved into a cottage on our ranch so they have their own space. Ash's sister Greta gave birth to a baby girl, Ashley Dorothea, and they live in the cottage also.
Keanu and Lana have also moved into a studio apartment we built for them with their son Kale and their year old triplets Peirce, Matteo and Mariah.
Lisa, Jess and Paiva now share a room adjacent to a large nursery in which you can find their children Becca, Morgan, Ansa, Eeva and Leevi. The girls have become very close and help each other out a lot with each others babies. They also have a nanny on hand if needed. It's great that they can rely on each other as none of the babies fathers have ever shown an interest in their children.
Sera, Ani and Quiana also share a room. They get along really well and, away from Autumn's influence, Ani has really blossomed into a great girl. Both she and Sera keep a close eye on Quiana who is a recovering Bulimic after being abused by her step-father. With counselling, Quiana has made great steps toward recovery.
Stav and Tommy share a room as well. These two get along most of the time but are not really close. Tommy has grown up a lot and watching Lisa, Jess, Paiva and Greta try and raise their babies with no assistance from the babies fathers has prompted him to recontact his ex and start forming a relationship with his year old son, Nico Isaac. Stav has joined a theatre troup and is thriving.
In another room, the brothers Yrgo and Heikki can be found. Yrgo and Tommy get along really well and have been very good for each other. Heikki has found a really fantastic older brother figure in Keanu. They bonded over soccer originally but have really grown from there. They both absolute dote on their neices and nephew.
Spy and Vic are also in a room together now. Having these two paired together has been great as they are both quite sensitive types. Spy has relaxed his hold on Sera and is more independent. We did allow Vic to confront his brother Adam in Juvenile Hall which, although it didn't fix anything really, was theraputic for him and allowed him to close that door. He's really gained a lot of confidence since then, but is still very quiet expressing himself through his poetry. Vic is still in therapy to help him deal with his past. We, unfortunately, never located his birth mother.
The next bedroom belongs to Lizzie and Tira. Lizzie has really helped Tira's english and has helped her to loosen her dependence on her older siblings. Not only that but we are so happy to announce that Tira hasn't had a nightmare in 4 months! Lizzie has really got into horse riding and she's claimed Thunder as her horse.
The twins, Lucy and Anna, have their room as well. Sometimes I think we should have split them up as they associate only between themselves rather than with any other members of the family. However, being identical twins, they can't stand to be apart for long so we allow them to stay together, hoping that eventually they'll socialise with the other kids. Anna has started singing classes and Lucy still loves riding, Storm being her favorite.
Then there are our girls, Goldie and Cella. At first Sander and I were really worried about how this huge influx of people would affect them, but we really underestimated our babies. They've thrived! They've learn to speak some greek, finnish, brazilian and veitnemese with the help of their siblings from other countries.
The second to last room (for now) belong to Brigida and Nat. They are now adorable 5 year olds. They came to us as Catholic's and, although we encouraged them to continue this, they no longer really practice as their other siblings don't.
The last room is our second nursery and belongs to Lien, Yen, Moirrey, Mireio and Anais, although we have plans to move Lien and Yen to their own room soon. It's always a hive of activity and the older children can often be found in there playing with them.
So that's our kids for now!
