Miranda "Mira" Charlotte is a 17-year-old girl with severe clinical depression from England. She was raped, and has a 1-year-old son, Caleb Andrew, and she is 7 months pregnant with another baby boy, whom she wants to name Valentine "Bo" Boniface. She enjoys reading, rock climbing, being with the baby's father, and swimming. She wants to be an Olympic level swimmer someday.
Jonah "Xave" Xavier is Mira's 17-year-old boyfriend, also from England. He has Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. He loves playing Halo, being with Mira and Caleb, and reading mysteries. He wants to be a movie director when he grows up.
Anna Elisabeth is an 11-year-old girl from England with lymphoma. She has a Papillon named Emi, and she loves to read, dance, and sing her heart out. She needs chemotherapy, and if she gets treatment soon, she'll have a much larger chance of living. She has a very fierce will to live, and she wants to go to medical school, and become a doctor.
