I'd attempt it as "NEEN-ka." Where I am at least, I wouldn't try to make it fly because of the slang word 'nanky.' And I guess the adjacent N consonants sound negative to me - I'm touchy about N because there are so many in my own name.

I was curious, too, but googling it didn't get me very far. All I could come up with is that it's another way to say "nookie". :b

Well, maybe it's extremely local. I can't find it anywhere online either. So, nevermind I suppose.
It was used to describe something smelly, dirty, & unwanted. Like: Someone left their nanky old socks on the floor and I don't want to touch them to throw them out.
