Ligia is a common female name in Brazil. I can´t tell anything about name origin because in Brazil we have almost all cultures mixed. Maybe it´s european related. Some says that Ligia is a old german area but I´m unable to find anything related in enclyclopedias. Maybe it´s a greek name ... if so, probably we get Ligias on others countries.
