It depends on how much time I have. Sometimes I just randomly choose for each family. Other times I flip a coin--heads is a boy; tails is a girl (or vice versa). And finally, other times I use a dice--1-3 is a girl; 4-6 is a boy & then roll again--1-2 is twins, 3-4 is single, 5-6 is triplets (or something like that).
