[Opinions] Re: birth announcements

Wow, that's a lot of bad names! O_o
Well, here are the few I like:
John
Giovanni
Dominick - Prefer Dominic, the original form (well, the original form was Dominicus... which, you'll notice, isn't spelled Dominickus)
Fred - Prefer as a nn for Alfred or Frederick, but it's alright on its own as fred by itself means "peace"
Omar
Mary Jane - ELotD*: Marijuana derives from Spanish marihuana (also the modern Dutch, German, and occasional Spanish spelling); although I couldn't find what marihuana means, it looks like it couldn't possibly have anything to do with Mary or Jane, the names. However, marijuana does look like a combo of María and Juana to the untrained eye. Therefore, it's not hard to see the combo María Juana being translated into English as Mary Jane.
My point, with all this? It's a pity an entirely unrelated word had to go and ruin a perfectly lovely combo. And, yes, I also like María Juana, Marie Jeanne, and Maria Giovanna.
Kaitryn - Much prefer Catrin (Welsh), Caitria (Irish), or Caitríona (Caitriona; Irish), Caitrìona (Scottish), Catriona (Irish, Scottish), or even Katrin (German).
Monique
Kelsea - Prefer Kelsey, and that on a boy
Cayne - Prefer Kane or Cain, and those only on a boy
Jadeline - Nmsaa as a real name, but I like its sound and look in theory
Zophia - Prefer Sophia
I wonder if Canon's parents were referring to the quality of truth, what with "canon" being a fanfiction term for what really occurs in the book/movie/game/whatever they're writing fanfic for, as opposed to the fanfic author's own speculations... OK, a bit of a stretch, but I had to rationalise at least one of those names!
