In my own investigations I have found a couple of families that have passed the name down in the Scandanavian region. It was their belief that the name was a derivative from the island Senja in Norway.
On the other hand, their is an airport in Algeria called La Senia so who knows? Good luck figuring it out, and let me know if you come up with any other info!
