According to one obscure source:Sikh Punjabis celebrate Teej. Normally in villages there is a Teej mela called *teelan*, when all the young girls get together and swing on a jhula called 'peeng' and apply mehndi, dance, sing and eat a feast of kheer (cooked with rice, milk and dry fruits) and purras (sweet or salty pancakes, made with besan).
