[Opinions] Re: Take a whack at this pronunciation........

I don't know...I mean - just think about WHERE the parents come from. Don't "americanize" everything. The name might be common where they come from!
My name "Katharina"...I mean when I was over in the US - NOBODY (not even my father) could say it right! So? I still love my name. :)

My friend's name is pronounced the same way as your name, but her name is Katerina.
And I can pronounce that name wonderfully! I don't americanize it, I talk good
And I didn't say the name was weird, all I said was that it's long, there's nothing wrong with what I said. And no, I don't americanize everything, alrihgt? And yes, I do respect where names come from. Geese.

that's what I thought
But...
1. I've heard the German pronunciation before.
2. I know you live in Germany so I assumed the German pronunciation.
And that information made all the difference. Without it I would have americanized the pronunciation.
I like how you related it to a German saying Ryan. I completely get your point :)
