[Facts] Re: Thirza, please read
I've just browsed some websites and have come up with another spelling: 'Chatti'. It seems to have been a German tribe during Roman times. Near the present Katwijk in the first century Roamds build a settlement lugdunum in the area the Chatti would have lived. http://www.livius.org/ga-gh/germania/lugdunum.html'Chatti (Hessian Franks)
* The Chatti were a turbulent tribe located in Western Germany - they are known to have moved from a homeland around the Weser River in the second half of the 1st Century to a new region around the Main River. They are commented on from c. 83 CE to c. 213 CE, often allyingthemselves with Roman enemies and causing considerable difficulties on the frontier. They seem to have been absorbed into the Frankish people during the 3rd Century, probably as members of a new confederation joining them with the Ripuarians and Salians. Even so, I have notes on Warlords referred to as Chatti toward the end of the 3rd century...
