Like they say at Radio Shack, "You've got questions, we've got shrugs." You need to give us some info to go on: your gender, the national origin of the family, etc., would help us check it out.

Well, I'm a guy. The side of my family from which the name comes is primarily Scottish. The name has been passed down several generations--I know at least from my great-great grandfather--but that's about all I know.
