[Facts] Re: Itai

The name is of Hebrew origin, and means "friendly, compassionate".
Although the name "Itai" can be either masculine or feminine, in the United States it is given primarily to male babies. In the year 2000, there were a total of 20 male babies born in U.S. territories and named "Itai", and possibly 4 or fewer girl babies given that name.

Well, personally, I spell my name differently than that :)
It is a Hebrew name, as Nanaea said. Mostly used for Males, never once seen a female called Itai.
On the other hand, it means different things in different languages. In Japanese it is 'ouch', in Shona (Zimbabwean indigenous language) it means 'do it'.
Oh well.
