I love
Jocelyn on a boy, especially. It's 100% male to me, having been a reasonably popular male name in the Middle Ages (35th in 1250) and being borne by males in several French noble families. (This included the brother-in-law of
Henry I of
France,
Jocelin of Louvain. He married
Agnes de
Percy, and their children took their mother's surname; thus he founded the
Percy family of the Earls of Northumberland.)
I prefer
Nathaniel, even though I know
Nathanael's more correct.
Nathaniel's just more familiar to me. But, as a sib for
Asher, I'd really prefer
Nathan since
Nathaniel seems too long to me when paired with
Asher.
