Akhil Ganesh

Akhil is a mischevious little 7-year-old. His darker skin and nearly black hair makes the boy so mysterious and fun. His black eyes identical to his sister's can invade your thoughts and mind.
Akhil is a tired child who has been through too much. In India, his sister and him had been alone on the streets starving and unhealthy. He was the worse of the two when they came to us last October because he took care of his twin, he gave his sister what little they could find and keep nearly nothing for himself. He still holds those qualities, he is over protective of both his sisters and puts himself in all kinds of danger for them-
This past summer Gyongyi was playing with her favorite ball in our neighbor's yard while my husband and I were out of town and her ball rolled into the street and she ran right after it. Akhil saw the car coming and immediatly ran at her and shoved her aside, and in turn he was hit, my neighbor was inside with Lalita and her children and the driver of the car rushed the two to the hospital and Akhil survived with a sprained leg and cuts and brusies. The driver now happens to be the one who watches the kids while we are gone!
Akhil started second grade with his twin in september at a local privet school. His behavior "problems" from last year have drastically changed for the good. Although he struggles with reading, writting, and math he loves science, drawing, music, gym, and social studies.
At home we got the trio a game cube system that Akhil loves the most. The 23 games we happen to have collected are nearly all mastered by the Indian boy. His favorite games though are pokemon and mario games. Akhil also loves watching tv, his favorite shows happen to be Pokemon, Digimon, Inyuasha, Kenshin, Power Rangers, and Kirby. He hates the shows like Spongebob and Blue's Clues which both of his sisters love.
Akhil enjoys playing outside with his family and his best friends Jake, Parker, Evan, Samantha, Carson, and Kellan. He is on the soccer, baseball, and basketball teams and he wants to be in football when he gets older as well. Akhil loves running around too, and he runs like no tomorrow. Last spring at the First-Grade Field Day he got first place in hurdles, running track, and sprinting. My husband was jumping for joy!
His room is decorated with posters, pictures, stuffed animals, coloring books, markers, license plates, trophies, pokemon cards, movies, board games, and awards all over it. He loves collecting all sorts of odd things like that! His walls are pained a mix of pale green and blue. And his carpet is the same color blue. His bed set is a darker blue comforter with darker green sheets and both colored pillowcases.
He is an obsessive eater! He loves all kinds of junk food- chips, pop, ice cream, pizza, cookies, and expecially sniker bars. Although Akhil enjoys almost all the meals I make, although he dispises rice, as well as Lalita, the problem being is that Gyongyi and my husband love it! He also has this little problem with apples and banana's which we don't buy anyway beacuse of Gyongyi's allergies towards banana's, amongst many other things as well.
Akhil is an etergetic and postive addition to our family and we love him so much. He has adjusted so well and quickly and loves life in America.
