When Augustus and Rose were considering adoption they thought they'd end up with a baby, not two ten year olds! However Jake and Mark who are both originally from Poland are fit in into the family well. They both look alike as they are cousins. Jake's parents died when he was young and Mark's were unable to look after him any more. They have both been in care for most of their lives.
The boys have been given English nicknames as Teagan and Alexandra were fining Janek and Marceli difficult to say. Teagan is getting on especially well with them as she is more of a tom boy so they all play ball games together. Alex is being more reserved though she is enjoying helping Mark and Jake learn English.
Dervla is back with the family again as she has decided to take up photography full time and has dropped out of her University course much to Rose and Dervla's parents disapproval. She has decided to stay at the Quinn's until her parents calm down and of course to help out with Jake and Mark. She went on a trip to Poland several years ago, so she can speak a bit of Polish which helps.
