This is my daughter Jacqueline Adele
You Say: Hello, Jacqueline.
You Think: Ohhhh I hope they use the "zha-ku-LEEN" pronounciation--it's so pretty! She might have to correct people on the pronounciation a lot, but they'll catch on and it's worth it. I love the combo with that pronounciation, otherwise it's just ok. I hate how the "JAK-e-lin" pronounciation reminds me of "jackal."
This is my daughter Gemma Noelle
You Say: Hi, Gemma.
You Think: Argh, I always want to pronounce that name "GEM-ma" with a hard "g" instead of "JEM-ma". I like the sound better that way, too. Oh well, the combo isn't bad if I can just get my head wrapped around the "JEM-ma" bit. I like Noelle better than Gemma, though--nice name, and no ambiguity about pronounciation. People won't try to pronounce that as "NOL" like they do Noel.
This is my daughter Tessa Rose
You Say: Hi, Tessa.
You Think: It's a pretty combo. It does remind me of the word "tesseract" from "A Wrinkle in Time," LOL (there's a word I don't think of every day), but that's not too bad, and I love the nn Tess.
This is my daughter Alexa Grace
You Say: Hi, Alexa.
You Think: It's a little bland, but not bad.
This is my daughter Lily-Rose Cheyenne
You Say: Hi, Lily-Rose.
You Think: Ok, I suppose I'll learn to associate this with the girl, rather than the flowers and it won't sound odd anymore, but Lily and Rose right together are a little much, especially hyphenated. And for some reason I feel like Cheyenne Rose sounds like a name of a kind of rose (I know it's not a rose breed, but I don't know the correct term). The three together just don't sound right to me.
This is my daughter Isabella Maria
You Say: Hello, Isabella.
You Think: I'd go with Isabel Marie or Isabella Marie, but it's quite pretty.
This is my daughter Ava Gwendolyn
You Say: Hi, Ava.
You Think: Is that AY-va or AH-vah? I'll never remember. I hope AH-vah (especially followed by Gwendolyn), but it's pretty either way.
This is my daughter Annika Elizabeth
You Say: Hello, Annika.
You Think: I wonder if they ever call her Nika; that would be cute. I love the combo.
This is my son Cade Ethan
You Say: Hi, Cade.
You Think: Ehh, ok. I don't care for Cade, and Ethan's pretty bland, but they're not bad. Ethan Cade would flow better, though.
This is my son Duncan Francesco
You Say: Hi, Duncan.
You Think: I like Francesco, but I don't care for Duncan. David Francesco or Francesco David, maybe?
This is my son Logan Blake
You Say: Hi, Logan.
You Think: Not bad. Neither is a favorite of mine, but they go together well enough.
This is my son Luca William
You Say: Hello, Luca.
You Think: I'd like Lucas William better, but it's nice. I bet he will get called Lucas a lot by mistake, though.
This is my son Dylan Luke
You Say: Hi, Dylan.
You Think: Luke is nice, Dylan is trendy and bland. How about Daniel Luke, Lucas Dimitri, Lucas Derek...
This is my son Zachary Jonathan
You Say: Hello, Zachary
You Think: The two names together get a little long, and don't think they flow well. I love Jonathan, though. Jonathan Patrick, Jonathan Daniel...Jonathan Zachary even flows better to me.
This is my son Johnny Angel
You Say: Hi, Johnny.
You Think: Like the song? Poor kid.
This is my son Joshua Seth
You Say: Hello, Joshua.
You Think: Both names nice on their own, but I don't like the combo. It sounds too abrupt to me.
