After August and Lancelot's father died, he passed on his fortune in its entirety to his elder son, August. Lancelot (as suggested by Guest) was left penniless. He begged his brother to help him, but August, who disapproved of his conduct, judging him a dissolute rake, refused. Lancelot had no legal recourse, so he swallowed his pride and joined an army. He has since made a name and a fortune for himself - but he will never forgive how August treated him.The following rounds will be a bit different. All the guests have been named. All that remains is for you - the reader - to vote on the victim and the killer. So, please, write down the name of the victim. I will tally the votes, and in the next round, you can vote for the killer. For those of you who are just here for the names, we shall be naming the Hastings' hunting dogs.Name two hunting dogs with names from this list: https://tudortreasures.net/medieval-dog-names/

Following a rather tense dinner party (for several reasons, depending on which guest you might ask) the evening was completely ruined by the discovery of the host, Lord August Hastings, deceased in a manner that may speak to foul play. More than one person in attendance had reason to argue with Lord August, but who could have done something so terrible? And what does this mean for the rest of them? The Hastings' hunting dogs are named Foxe and Fynder, names chosen by Lord August as he found them to be an amusing pair.

His Grace, the Duke of Somerset was discovered by Ashbourne's favorite hounds, Dyngill and Elfyn, face down in the formal garden and rather rudely dead, dropping rather a wet blanket on the gathering.
