In 1981, the WMO decided to retire the names Danielle, Earl, Hermine, Ivan, Karl, Lisa, Otto, Shary, Walter, Alpha, Beta, Delta, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Lambda, Mu, and Nu. Due to Greek rules, they are gonna be used later on. They were replaced with Denise, Elliott, Holly, Igor, Kent, Lola, Owen, Silvia, and Warren for the 1986 season, respectively.
