My name is Avalon Renee. I was born to Gideon and Leanna Davies, their seventh daughter out of eleven children. I was a bit of a surprise, just as my siblings Henry and Liz were a year before me. The day my oldest sibling Kat left for college was the day I was born. Jo jokes that I was her "big ten birthday present." My family is very busy and the older children must add more childcare to their daily activities, such as sports and school. Shaye often drives while Mom lays in the passenger seat with a headache. I break my fragile ankle when I crawl off the porch in the fall months. Mom is relieved that I only broke one bone, but is still rather miffed that my siblings didn't notice. A watching schedule is made to prevent any future incidents.

Shaye takes over most of the driving from Mom as he has his license, and also gets a job. I am only a bystander in all the busy-ness of the year, including Hayden going to high school, Jo starting middle school, and Finnick hitting ten. I begin walking late, and we find out my ankle didn't heal quite right. It shouldn't affect me terribly in the future, but it will make running... interesting.

Mom and Dad discover that I have a talent: leadership! At age two, I am already trying to boss my siblings around. They laugh at me a lot, and the girls think it's adorable, but I'm very serious. Only Liz listens to me. She also helps with leading. Winter goes to preschool, which means only Henry, Liz, and I are home. Finnick starts middle school and Hayden gets his permit. He starts doing a lot of driving too. Kat apparently has something called a "boyfriend" and isn't home for Thanksgiving, but she brings him for Christmas. We do not interact much. Shaye also gets a "girlfriend." She is nice and likes playing with us kids.

Henry and Liz go to preschool and Winter goes to actual school. I'm kind of lonely without Liz, who is my best friend. Hayden gets his license and must do more driving, since Shaye went off to college like Kat. Kat gets "engaged," which my older siblings say means she will get married to her boyfriend. Shaye does too, although my parents think he's too young to get married. My parents are having marital problems and separate. All my brothers who are at home go with Dad, while us girls stay with Mom. Hayden doesn't end up having to get a job like he planned. I still see Dad often and my parents are still friendly with each other. They say that they read too much into a simple friendship back when they got married, but do not regret getting married. Things would've been too weird if Dad just stayed in the house so he moved out with the boys.

I start preschool, Liz goes to real school, Jo goes to high school, and Kat is out of school. Kat moves into an apartment in the town we live near. El & Arwen hit ten, and we have huge birthday party for them, inviting our brothers. Shaye gets married to Robin Fox Boone. I get to be a flower girl with Liz and Winter, and Shaye has Henry be the ring-bearer. I get stung by a wasp and immediately go into shock. I am rushed to the ER and it's discovered that I have a severe bee allergy. I must carry around an EpiPen now.

I start real school! I'm so happy. Finnick wants to be called Finn now that he's in high school, and Jo gets her permit. Mom can't wait until she gets her license. Hayden goes to college. El and Arwen start middle school. I am once again diagnosed with an allergy, this time blueberry. When I ate one, I had to use my EpiPen. El really likes blueberries, but as long as I don't eat any, I'll be fine.

Dad turns 50, so we have a big party for him where I drink beer on accident. It does not taste good. Jo finally gets her license, to Mom's relief. She also gets a job. Kat finally gets married to her fiance, Alex Theodore Stratton. Jo gets a boyfriend, too, and is currently the only Davies kid in a relationship that is not marriage, as Hayden still hasn't found "her." My dad's dad, Ryan Davies/Pawpaw passes away. We are all very sad. We all loved Pawpaw very much. My dad's mom and siblings are especially distraught. Everybody comes to the funeral, even Alex. The older kids are especially sad because they have a lot of memories with Pawpaw. I am afraid for Dad since he's so old now, but he assures me that Pawpaw is in a better place now and I'll see him again someday.

We have a big party for Mom's fiftieth birthday, but I'm not as excited with Pawpaw's death still lingering. Shaye is out of school and in a house across town, Finn gets his license, Kat has a baby girl (named Octavia Devony), Hayden finally gets a girlfriend, and Jo gets a boyfriend. I love my baby niece and we see her often. I make friends with a kindergartener named Edie Webber. She is mature for her age and very smart. She is also our neighbor. We see each other at lunch sometimes, but we mostly hang out after school.

Mom and Dad can't believe how fast we're growing up. I meet another friend, she's my age this time. Well, she barely made the cutoff date for 3rd grade, so she's a bit younger than me. Her name is Rebecca Dorian, but she likes to be called Becca. She is also a leader. She's very fierce and strong and I love that she's my friend. She and Edie become friends, too and now we have a group.

Finn goes to college, leaving only Henry with Dad. El and Arwen have their permits. Henry and Liz have their big ten, and Liz wants to be called Beth now. She says it sounds more grown-up. Winter is in middle school. Finn finally gets a girlfriend. Shaye and Robin have their first baby, a girl named Tehila Linley Davies. She is very cute but I don't get to see her as often as I see Octavia. I try a short haircut but it looks like someone put a bowl on my head and cut off any hair that wasn't under the bowl. Luckily, Mom is able to get her hairdresser to make it a cute pixie cut and my honor is saved.

It's finally my big ten! Mom and Dad take me out to eat and I get very nice birthday presents, and even get my ears pierced. Becca gets hers pierced with me. Henry and Beth are in middle school. Shaye and Robin have another daughter, Leia. She and Tehila look almost exactly alike. My favorite subject is math, but all my siblings except Winter, Henry, and Beth say that will change in the future. I don't believe them.

Henry and Liz go to preschool and Winter goes to actual school. I'm kind of lonely without Liz, who is my best friend. Hayden gets his license and must do more driving, since Shaye went off to college like Kat. Kat gets "engaged," which my older siblings say means she will get married to her boyfriend. Shaye does too, although my parents think he's too young to get married. My parents are having marital problems and separate. All my brothers who are at home go with Dad, while us girls stay with Mom. Hayden doesn't end up having to get a job like he planned. I still see Dad often and my parents are still friendly with each other. They say that they read too much into a simple friendship back when they got married, but do not regret getting married. Things would've been too weird if Dad just stayed in the house so he moved out with the boys.

I start preschool, Liz goes to real school, Jo goes to high school, and Kat is out of school. Kat moves into an apartment in the town we live near. El & Arwen hit ten, and we have huge birthday party for them, inviting our brothers. Shaye gets married to Robin Fox Boone. I get to be a flower girl with Liz and Winter, and Shaye has Henry be the ring-bearer. I get stung by a wasp and immediately go into shock. I am rushed to the ER and it's discovered that I have a severe bee allergy. I must carry around an EpiPen now.

I start real school! I'm so happy. Finnick wants to be called Finn now that he's in high school, and Jo gets her permit. Mom can't wait until she gets her license. Hayden goes to college. El and Arwen start middle school. I am once again diagnosed with an allergy, this time blueberry. When I ate one, I had to use my EpiPen. El really likes blueberries, but as long as I don't eat any, I'll be fine.

Dad turns 50, so we have a big party for him where I drink beer on accident. It does not taste good. Jo finally gets her license, to Mom's relief. She also gets a job. Kat finally gets married to her fiance, Alex Theodore Stratton. Jo gets a boyfriend, too, and is currently the only Davies kid in a relationship that is not marriage, as Hayden still hasn't found "her." My dad's dad, Ryan Davies/Pawpaw passes away. We are all very sad. We all loved Pawpaw very much. My dad's mom and siblings are especially distraught. Everybody comes to the funeral, even Alex. The older kids are especially sad because they have a lot of memories with Pawpaw. I am afraid for Dad since he's so old now, but he assures me that Pawpaw is in a better place now and I'll see him again someday.

We have a big party for Mom's fiftieth birthday, but I'm not as excited with Pawpaw's death still lingering. Shaye is out of school and in a house across town, Finn gets his license, Kat has a baby girl (named Octavia Devony), Hayden finally gets a girlfriend, and Jo gets a boyfriend. I love my baby niece and we see her often. I make friends with a kindergartener named Edie Webber. She is mature for her age and very smart. She is also our neighbor. We see each other at lunch sometimes, but we mostly hang out after school.

Jo is in college and already engaged to her boyfriend (Mom and Dad think she's being too hasty), El and Arwen are in high school, and Winter has her big ten. Mom and Dad can't believe how fast we're growing up. I meet another friend, she's my age this time. Well, she barely made the cutoff date for 3rd grade, so she's a bit younger than me. Her name is Rebecca Dorian, but she likes to be called Becca. She is also a leader. She's very fierce and strong and I love that she's my friend. She and Edie become friends, too and now we have a group.

Finn goes to college, leaving only Henry with Dad. El and Arwen have their permits. Henry and Liz have their big ten, and Liz wants to be called Beth now. She says it sounds more grown-up. Winter is in middle school. Finn finally gets a girlfriend. Shaye and Robin have their first baby, a girl named Tehila Linley Davies. She is very cute but I don't get to see her as often as I see Octavia. I try a short haircut but it looks like someone put a bowl on my head and cut off any hair that wasn't under the bowl. Luckily, Mom is able to get her hairdresser to make it a cute pixie cut and my honor is saved.

It's finally my big ten! Mom and Dad take me out to eat and I get very nice birthday presents, and even get my ears pierced. Becca gets hers pierced with me. Henry and Beth are in middle school. Shaye and Robin have another daughter, Leia. She and Tehila look almost exactly alike. My favorite subject is math, but all my siblings except Winter, Henry, and Beth say that will change in the future. I don't believe them.
