Cesare and Winnie were married in a small, quiet ceremony after an appropriate amount of time had passed since Marie-Hélène's death. The pair have a deep love, and respect for one another, and are just happy to enjoy whatever time left the two of them have. Cesare in particular, being in his seventies now, and he spends a lot of time around his many grandchildren, even hoping to live long enough to see a few great-grandchildren as well, should he be so lucky.
Beth died just last year from a cough that swept through the neighbourhood, and surprisingly Antoine hasn't moved on yet. It seems that despite what his children with Marcella thought, he did love her, although they still wish that he hadn't treated her and them so poorly and have not forgiven him.
Raoul is doing his best to rebuild Antoine's business, rebranding it to Lawson's and hiring a shrewd businesswoman to help it along. Along the way though, he and Hester fell deeply in love, spurred by their shared practicality and love of fine needlework, and they were married just before the grand re-opening. The pair already have two children together, Cynthia and Eugene, and are looking forward to a fine life together.
Emilien and Myra welcomed a son, Theo, three years ago, and when Raoul offered him a job sourcing fabric for the shop he jumped at the chance, eager to provide more for his growing family. A decision he was grateful for when they found out earlier this year that Myra was pregnant with twins. But unfortunately, better funds didn't help the doctors stop the hemorrhaging after the birth and she bled out, leaving Emilien with four young children to care for. Fortunately, while not likely to forgive her Father, Cécile holds no ill-will towards her half-siblings and, since she was looking for a governess job anyway, she offered to move in and help out, which Emilien is incredibly grateful for.
The elder twin, Lucien, is engaged to a young secretary, Cleo Rhodes, he met while handling household matters downtown, Julien often jokes about having her set him up with a friend, but he is actually quite happy living the bachelor life.
Annette and Hiram have settled into their life quite comfortably, [surprising her parent, who thought she was making a terrible decision by moving out so young] and also have two young children, Keziah, and Barbara. They all live above a small carpentry shop that Hiram's family owns and he works at.
Léontine is officially 'out' in society, and with the help of a small scholarship and her inheritance, she is taking painting classes at the university.
Edouard and Maxime still miss their Mother terribly, but they are starting to put aside their mourning. Edouard is apprenticing at Hiram's shop, and Maxime is doing very well in school, particularly Math.
Lucrezia took up with yet another lover, this time a wealthy friend of Nate's, but he died in a rowing accident last year, leaving her bereft. And Oscar died of a heart attack earlier this year, leaving her without any proper male companionship! The horror. She is already on the hunt for her next beau though, Oscar's plays having done rather well in their later years, so even with some set aside for Viola and Calvin to claim later she has enough to do a bit of splurging.
Speaking of inheritance, Robert was surprised that Oscar left him any, since he obviously wasn't his son, even if he treated him as such, and he used it to move into a small house with his now-wife Addy, investing the rest in a few promising business ventures.
Viola is tired of dealing with her Mother's man-hunting, and so when Cyrus Vaughan, a watchmaker's apprentice she knew from school, proposed to her she accepted. While she isn't in love with him, she finds him handsome enough, and she enjoys their conversations more than she does with most people.
Calvin is actually in the same school as Maxime, and the two are fast friends, neither really knowing who the other is [not that they would care]. While he doesn't have his friends aptitude for Math, he does well in English, seemingly taking after Oscar with his love of stories.
Surprising even himself, Nate found he was falling in love for a third time, to another Jewish woman, and widower, Abi Knowles. The pair were married in a happy ceremony surrounded by their respective families, and, taking a page from Cesare's book, he adopted her daughter Thea as well. They already have three children of their own, Clara, and twins Obi & Derrick, and the rest of the Elliston's can often be seen around the city, and at a few parties, now.
The future Lord of Devon is engaged now, also to a Jewish woman, having converted just like his father. Lady Damaris Reuter is one of the few Jewish nobles in the whole of England*, and the eldest in her family, accomplished in pianoforte and several languages, but Josh fell in love with her because she often snuck a book into synagogue and would sequester herself in a corner to read away from prying eyes. As the pair got to know each other even more, her sharp tongue always brought a laugh when he felt down, and she loved that he didn't expect her to be decorative as so many other noblemen did.
Mal is the most like his Mother, a shy, sweet boy who never has a mean word to say about anybody, and as he grows older he seems to have Miri's firm sense of right and wrong as well, and Nate thinks he is going to pursue a law degree, although Mal hasn't quite decided yet.
Noa, sadly, hated Thea at first. Her new sister is the same age as Shoshana, and Noa thought she was trying to replace her, especially since she found some of Shoshana's old toys and was playing with them. She didn't like Abi very much either, but focused most of her rage on the younger girl. The girls had an awful fight not long before Clarissa was born, resulting in Thea falling down the stairs and banging her head. Noa immediately felt horrible, and was at Thea's bedside near-constantly until she woke, at which point she tearfully apologized and explained why she was being so awful. Thea didn't quite understand, saying that she wouldn't want to replace anyone, and the two have been joined at the hip ever since.
Although Klah died from a childhood illness just a few years ago, there was recently much rejoicing, with a bit of shock mixed in, when Nizhóní married a young grocery store clerk named Phineas Dawson from the nearby town. The pair are practically inseparable, having a courtship not dissimilar from Aurelia and Bidziil's own, and they are eager to start their life together.
And while Aurelia and Bidziil may have less children than most of the others in her family, they are quite happy with their brood, and still love each other immensely.
Notah still misses his twin sometimes, but he and Ajei often hunt together now, and he enjoys teaching her all the various spots to hide and how to take a clean shot and such.
Alice and Jean-Baptiste's lover found themselves drawn together more and more in the aftermath of his death, Newt often helped out with the children, who had called him 'Uncle Newt' for years anyway, and were very accepting when the pair married. The actual shock came when Norman came home one day with Tabby, who he had eloped with after they were assigned as partners for some class project and got along better than expected.
Even Everett wasn't expecting his twin to elope with Tabby, although he saw firsthand how well they fit together, and though he did his best to smooth things over with their Mother, he's still finds the whole situation odd. Especially once Norman moved to his own room with Tabby, since she moved in. Her parents, however, just kind of shrugged and asked for a proper dowry payment, seemingly satisfied that their daughter 'knew her own heart'.
Wesley and Jasper find their new sister fine enough, although they're still adjusting to having another girl in the house and don't quite understand that she doesn't want to play with them.
Andrew and Lucy were married about a year after Eli was born, and her parents seem to have begrudgingly accepted him as her husband. They dote on their grandchildren however, always happy to look after them so that the young couple can 'have some time to themselves'. The pressure seems to have strengthened the couple's bond, and the two remain steadfastly in love.
Winnie's son Bart accepted his Mother's marriage to Cesare with a bit of an eyeroll and curling of his nose, but he accepted that she could do what she liked. He married a handsome young woman named Del, and the two are looking forward to filling up their estate with a healthy number of Sharma heirs.
*AN - are there Jewish nobles in Britain? who cares! there are now =P
