Princess Amabel and Prince Crispin are devastated to lose their 9-year-old daughter, Adelaide, this year to mumps. However, they have also had two more children: Felix and Florence. Prince Roland and Princess Lilias's 5-year-old daughter, Edith, also passes away from an unknown cause (suspected to be related to long-term birth complications because Edith and her twin were born prematurely). King Athelstan thought he was done having children, but he and his queen have had two more surprise sons in the last five years: Claude and Gabriel. This year, Baroness Rohesia's husband finds out about her affair with his friend and challenges him to a duel; the two barons kill each other, leaving Rohesia heartbroken. However, she quickly marries another baron, Constantius, and retains her aristocratic status.
