Karlyn and Ricky met through Karlyn's college bestie, Sarah Henry, who grew up neighbors with Ricky. They originally started off as a friends with benefits situation, since both had just gotten out of serious relationships when they first met. After about a year of that, Ricky admitted that he'd fallen for Karlyn and admitted the same. Two and a half years of dating later, Ricky proposed, Karlyn said yes, they moved in together, and they had their wedding three months later.
Immediately after moving in together, they started trying for a baby. Finding out they were pregnant shortly after, they chose to move the wedding up so that Karlyn could still fit in the dress she wanted. About five months after the wedding, Karlyn went into labor, giving birth to their first child, a little boy.
Once Theo was born, Ricky got hired on as the new soccer coach in his hometown of Petaluma, California. It meant moving, bht Karlyn was excited to be closer to Ricky's family since she wasn't close to hers and he was close to his. She figured it would be nice to be close to at least one side of the family, especially now with a baby of their own.

With Theo now one, Karlyn has a little more free time since he's sleeping through the night. To relax after a long day of balancing work and a baby, she's picked up painting again. She used to love it back in high school, but life got in the way as she grew older. She's started focussing on portraits after doing one of Theo as a present for Ricky's parents.

With Theo now three, Ricky and Karlyn decided it was time to start trying for another baby. A few months after the decision, Karlyn got the news that she was expecting again. Once they found out they were having another boy, they started the process of converting Theo's room from a single kid room to a double kid room. The process got Theo really excited to have a little brother.
After much discussion with Ricky, Karlyn finally decided to quit working. She hadn't gotten much joy out of the work since having Theo and the addition of baby David only made it worse. They looked at their budget and figured they could get by with a single income. The day Karlyn handed in her resignation, she felt like she was on cloud nine.

With Karlyn staying home now, she and Ricky decided to start trying for a baby again sooner than later. Shortly after they started trying, Karlyn found out that she was pregnant with their third. When they found out they were expecting their first daughter, they decided to move into a larger house to accomodate their growing family.
A month or two after Nia's birth, Ricky came home from work with horrible news about one of the players on his team. The child's parents found out that their son identified as transgender from one of the teachers who accidentally let it slip. A huge confrontation ensued, resulting in the student winding up on the streets.
Ricky felt horrible for the poor girl after finding her sleeping on school property early one morning. After talking it over with both Karlyn and the girl, he invited her to come stay at their house in their spare room. She broke down crying as she accepted.

Ricky got a promotion this year, just in time for Baby #4's arrival and some bad news.
With Rhea's arrival, they had to move again, to make sure they had enough room for three under three to run around and play plus have room for the now five year old Theo and seventeen year old Jasmine. Theo and David still share a room and Nia shares with her baby sister, giving space for Jasmine to have her own with Ricky and Karlyn in the master bedroom.
Shortly after Rhea's arrival, however, Ricky got some bad news. During a routine checkup, his test results came back showing that he had cancer. He's been going through all the regular treatments and seems to be doing okay at the moment.

After months of treatment, Ricky seemed to be doing fine. He was still working, still teaching, still making an impact on his player's lives. But he suddenly took an unexlected turn for the worse. He wound up in the hospital one day and ended up never coming back home. The entire family is in mourning.

Now being a single mom to four kids, Karlyn has started working again. Rather than returning to her original field, she decided to finally follow her goals of becoming an event planner. She's already doing everything from birthday parties to baptisms to graduations to engagement parties, with rave reviews all around.
Since she's become so busy with her new business, Karlyn has brought in a nanny to watch the kids while she's working. Lucia Nava came highly suggested by friends and has been so good with the kids so far. Karlyn has no regrets.

Shortly after Emery was born, Karlyn discovered that she was pregnant again. For the whole nine months, they were told they were expecting a son, so they prepared Emery's room to share with his new little brother. But on the day of the birth, they discovered that another, much smaller twin was hiding and they welcomed a daughter as well.
Malik proposed to Karlyn the day they had their twins, Zephyr and Viva. When Karlyn was in the bathroom, he set up a whole little scene with all seven kids. Zephyr and Viva held the ring box in their arms as they slept. Karlyn said yes, a thousand times yes.
Jasmine recently started college, studying engineering, and that's where she met her boyfriend, Cortland. Cortland knows everything about Jasmine. He's stood up against anybody who tries to harrass her. Jasmine swears to Karlyn that Cortland is going to be her husband one day.

Karlyn eventually sat him down to talk about what was going on when his report card came in and his grades had dropped. When she finally got him to talk, she found out that he's been getting bullied because he's struggling to read.

Malik and Karlyn recently welcomed another child: their third son, Trevor. Karlyn's older kids have taken all the changes to their lives in stride. Karlyn loves watching Theo especially with his little half siblings. He's got a gentleness to him that not all little boys his age have.
With four under four in the house again, Karlyn has decided to shut down her event planning business for the time being in order to spend more time with her children. She has chosen to keep Lucia on as nanny though, because eight kids-- one a newborn and three toddlers-- is a lot for any one woman to handle. Besides, Lucia has become family. It would break Karlyn's heart to have to let the young woman go.
Jasmine and Cortland, now engaged, recently decided to adopt when Jasmine met a sick little girl while at the hospital to (finally) get the gender confirming surgery she's been saving up for since she got kicked out. The four year old girl was there with her social worker after a surgery herself. Yvonne told Jasmine and Cortland that she was there to try and fix her legs so they'd work better, but the social worker informed them that it was a long shot. The girl had been using mobility aids from the time she learned to walk, and would most likely need to do so for the rest of her life. Because of this, no one wanted to adopt Yvonne, but Jasmine knew right then that She wanted to, because she knew what it was like to feel unwanted due to something she couldn't change.
Lucia also had a big change this year. She started dating a wonderful woman, Lea Glass. Lea had just started teaching at the kids' school. Lucia went to drop them off and ran into Lea on her way out. They started chatting and when Lea found out Lucia wasn't a parent but a nanny to some of her students, Lea immedia tely asked her to dinner. Lucia said yes and the rest is history.

Malik has worked for the same company for most of his adult life, and his hard work finally got noticed. His bosses called him into their office to give him the good news. He got a HUGE promotion! He now runs the location he's based at.
Now that they're married and Yvonne has settled in nicely, Jasmine and cortland have adopted again, this time a little boy. Continuing to adopt those few others have interest in, their new son is hard of hearing. It means putting in the extra work to learn sign language to communicate with him, but Jasmine feels good about the decision they made to give him a loving home.
Just in time for their new life with tad kids, Cortland graduated and landed his first job in his dream career field. He started working as a physical therapist, specializing in sports injuries, just before they adopted Adam. It allowed them to move into a bigger home to give them more space for their growing family.

Right at the start of the year, Malik's company sent him to Glasgow to open up a new branch. It gave Karlyn and Malik the opportunity to buy a bigger house for their large family, as their old home in Liverpool had become rather small for their eight kids.
The new house couldn't have come at a better time. shortly after moving in, Karlyn found out she was expecting again. Just in time to rearrange the kids' bedroom combos to accommodate a new baby. Theo has his own room for the first time ever. David shares with Emery, Nia with Rhea, Zephyr with Trevor, and Viva with her new baby sister.
While the Johnson-Knight family moved to Glasgow, the Gaylers stayed in Liverpool. That's where they are comfortable and have their livelihood. Besides, they just adopted their third child, a young girl of fourteen. Sticking with adopting those who few else would, this girl brings with her her seeing eye dog, a poodle she named Princess Diana, after the beloved deceased member of the royal family.
Lea and Lucia have decided to split their time between Liverpool and Glasgow, that way both can keep their jobs. However, they have gotten a dog together, a Yorkie named Murphy.

Karlyn and Malik had another surprise set of twins this year, making their numbers now eleven, with seven boys and four girls. Karly nis incredibly thankful that Malik's job forced them to move last year, because now they have all the space they need.
With their family of three, Jasmine and Cortland have a good life built together. Jasmine just graduated and started working as a web designer, and Cortland got his first promotion!
Now that they are engaged, Lea and Lucia have decided to relocate to Glasgow. The Johnson-Knight kids are really attached to Lucia and she doesn't want to break their hearts anymore than she already has by quitting as their nanny to open up her own daycare. The decision was made easy for them when one of Lea's friends became pregnant. The woman didn't have the funds to raise the baby, so Lea and Lucia adopted him.

With lucky number twelve, Lillia Persephone, evening out the boy-girl ratio a bit, Karlyn told Malik that she might be done having kids. After all, twelve is a lot! Especially with most of them still under ten.
Lil's birth wasn't the only big thing this year. As the high school dance drew closer, Karlyn asked Theo if he was going to ask anyone to go with him. Theo shrugged as David started teasing him about all the girls in his class. Finally, Theo sighed, "I'm asking a boy, okay? I don't like girls. I was gonna tell you I'm gay later, but since David wouldn't shut up about it..."
In her free time after school, Emilie has started messing around with grooming princess Diana by herself. Her first few attempts were pretty rough, considering she's legally blind, but after a bit, she got into the swing of things. She's even started grooming some of the neighbors' pets too!
Having gotten married to Lucia, Lea made a huge decision. She quit her job at the school and started teaching art at Lucia's daycare. She gets to have more fan, spend more time with Xavier, and see her wife more now. A perfect plan.

Karlyn and Ricky met through Karlyn's college bestie, Sarah Henry, who grew up neighbors with Ricky. They originally started off as a friends with benefits situation, since both had just gotten out of serious relationships when they first met. After about a year of that, Ricky admitted that he'd fallen for Karlyn and admitted the same. Two and a half years of dating later, Ricky proposed, Karlyn said yes, they moved in together, and they had their wedding three months later.
Immediately after moving in together, they started trying for a baby. Finding out they were pregnant shortly after, they chose to move the wedding up so that Karlyn could still fit in the dress she wanted. About five months after the wedding, Karlyn went into labor, giving birth to their first child, a little boy.
Once Theo was born, Ricky got hired on as the new soccer coach in his hometown of Petaluma, California. It meant moving, bht Karlyn was excited to be closer to Ricky's family since she wasn't close to hers and he was close to his. She figured it would be nice to be close to at least one side of the family, especially now with a baby of their own.

With Theo now three, Ricky and Karlyn decided it was time to start trying for another baby. A few months after the decision, Karlyn got the news that she was expecting again. After much discussion with Ricky, Karlyn finally decided to quit working. She hadn't gotten much joy out of the work since having Theo and the addition of baby David only made it worse. With Karlyn staying home now, she and Ricky decided to start trying for a baby again sooner than later. Shortly after they started trying, Karlyn found out that she was pregnant with their third. When they found out they were expecting their first daughter, they decided to move into a larger house to accomodate their growing family.
A month or two after Nia's birth, Ricky came home from work with horrible news about one of the players on his team. The child's parents found out that their son identified as transgender from one of the teachers who accidentally let it slip. A huge confrontation ensued, resulting in the student winding up on the streets.
Ricky felt horrible for the poor girl after finding her sleeping on school property early one morning. After talking it over with both Karlyn and the girl, he invited her to come stay at their house in their spare room. She broke down crying as she accepted.

Ricky got a promotion this year, just in time for Baby #4's arrival and some bad news.
With Rhea's arrival, they had to move again, to make sure they had enough room for three under three to run around and play plus have room for the now five year old Theo and seventeen year old Jasmine. Theo and David still share a room and Nia shares with her baby sister, giving space for Jasmine to have her own with Ricky and Karlyn in the master bedroom.
Shortly after Rhea's arrival, however, Ricky got some bad news. During a routine checkup, his test results came back showing that he had cancer. He's been going through all the regular treatments and seems to be doing okay at the moment.

Shortly after Emery was born, Karlyn discovered that she was pregnant again. For the whole nine months, they were told they were expecting a son, so they prepared Emery's room to share with his new little brother. Malik and Karlyn recently welcomed another child: their third son, Trevor. Karlyn's older kids have taken all the changes to their lives in stride. Karlyn loves watching Theo especially with his little half siblings. He's got a gentleness to him that not all little boys his age have.
With four under four in the house again, Karlyn has decided to shut down her event planning business for the time being in order to spend more time with her children. She has chosen to keep Lucia on as nanny though, because eight kids-- one a newborn and three toddlers-- is a lot for any one woman to handle. Besides, Lucia has become family. It would break Karlyn's heart to have to let the young woman go.
Jasmine and Cortland, now engaged, recently decided to adopt when Jasmine met a sick little girl while at the hospital to (finally) get the gender confirming surgery she's been saving up for since she got kicked out. The four year old girl was there with her social worker after a surgery herself. Yvonne told Jasmine and Cortland that she was there to try and fix her legs so they'd work better, but the social worker informed them that it was a long shot. The girl had been using mobility aids from the time she learned to walk, and would most likely need to do so for the rest of her life. Because of this, no one wanted to adopt Yvonne, but Jasmine knew right then that She wanted to, because she knew what it was like to feel unwanted due to something she couldn't change.
Lucia also had a big change this year. She started dating a wonderful woman, Lea Glass. Lea had just started teaching at the kids' school. Lucia went to drop them off and ran into Lea on her way out. They started chatting and when Lea found out Lucia wasn't a parent but a nanny to some of her students, Lea immedia tely asked her to dinner. Lucia said yes and the rest is history.

Malik has worked for the same company for most of his adult life, and his hard work finally got noticed. His bosses called him into their office to give him the good news. He got a HUGE promotion! He now runs the location he's based at.
Now that they're married and Yvonne has settled in nicely, Jasmine and cortland have adopted again, this time a little boy. Continuing to adopt those few others have interest in, their new son is hard of hearing. It means putting in the extra work to learn sign language to communicate with him, but Jasmine feels good about the decision they made to give him a loving home.
Just in time for their new life with tad kids, Cortland graduated and landed his first job in his dream career field. He started working as a physical therapist, specializing in sports injuries, just before they adopted Adam. It allowed them to move into a bigger home to give them more space for their growing family.

Right at the start of the year, Malik's company sent him to Glasgow to open up a new branch. It gave Karlyn and Malik the opportunity to buy a bigger house for their large family, as their old home in Liverpool had become rather small for their eight kids.
The new house couldn't have come at a better time. shortly after moving in, Karlyn found out she was expecting again. Just in time to rearrange the kids' bedroom combos to accommodate a new baby. Theo has his own room for the first time ever. David shares with Emery, Nia with Rhea, Zephyr with Trevor, and Viva with her new baby sister.
While the Johnson-Knight family moved to Glasgow, the Gaylers stayed in Liverpool. That's where they are comfortable and have their livelihood. Besides, they just adopted their third child, a young girl of fourteen. Sticking with adopting those who few else would, this girl brings with her her seeing eye dog, a poodle she named Princess Diana, after the beloved deceased member of the royal family.
Lea and Lucia have decided to split their time between Liverpool and Glasgow, that way both can keep their jobs. However, they have gotten a dog together, a Yorkie named Murphy.

Karlyn and Malik had another surprise set of twins this year, making their numbers now eleven, with seven boys and four girls. Karly nis incredibly thankful that Malik's job forced them to move last year, because now they have all the space they need.
With their family of three, Jasmine and Cortland have a good life built together. Jasmine just graduated and started working as a web designer, and Cortland got his first promotion!
Now that they are engaged, Lea and Lucia have decided to relocate to Glasgow. The Johnson-Knight kids are really attached to Lucia and she doesn't want to break their hearts anymore than she already has by quitting as their nanny to open up her own daycare. The decision was made easy for them when one of Lea's friends became pregnant. The woman didn't have the funds to raise the baby, so Lea and Lucia adopted him.

With lucky number twelve, Lillia Persephone, evening out the boy-girl ratio a bit, Karlyn told Malik that she might be done having kids. After all, twelve is a lot! Especially with most of them still under ten.
Lil's birth wasn't the only big thing this year. As the high school dance drew closer, Karlyn asked Theo if he was going to ask anyone to go with him. Theo shrugged as David started teasing him about all the girls in his class. Finally, Theo sighed, "I'm asking a boy, okay? I don't like girls. I was gonna tell you I'm gay later, but since David wouldn't shut up about it..."
In her free time after school, Emilie has started messing around with grooming princess Diana by herself. Her first few attempts were pretty rough, considering she's legally blind, but after a bit, she got into the swing of things. She's even started grooming some of the neighbors' pets too!
Having gotten married to Lucia, Lea made a huge decision. She quit her job at the school and started teaching art at Lucia's daycare. She gets to have more fan, spend more time with Xavier, and see her wife more now. A perfect plan.
