Bobby Jensen married Lillia Montgomery two months ago. They met when Lilly came to Chile for a modeling gig and literally ran into Bobby at the market. Bobby is a biologist and spends most of his time in the Chilean highlands studying the wildlife there, but he had traveled into town for a restocking run when he met Lillia. In a true fairytale happening, it was love at first sight for both of them! After her modeling gig was over, Lilly continued traveling the circuit, but returned to Chile on holiday six months later. She and Bobby rekindled their relationship and got engaged after three weeks together. They were married in a small, local ceremony attended by traditional Chilean elders (whom Bobby had befriended). The two of them plan to return to the US for a wedding ceremony in the next year or so, when Bobby's contract in Chile expires and he is assigned something else to study. Both Bobby and Lilly are from the US, incidentally; however, Bobby is from the northeast and Lillia is from California.

Bobby and Lilly have only spent a few months together over the last year--Bobby's field work and Lilly's modeling schedule have kept them apart. Bobby returns to the US in a few weeks to get his next assignment, and Lilly is planning to meet him there two weeks after that.
Despite living abroad, Bobby has kept a close eye on his investments and decided to cash them out during a recent stock market high! He made about $89,000 and, though they haven't settled on a use for it yet, both Bobby and Lilly have always wanted to try living on a houseboat. Bobby is thinking they might buy a yacht.

It has become a point of contention between the two of them. Lilly has agreed to scale back her traveling a bit, if Bobby agrees to take her to visit his family. With the global move, the two of them haven't decided how to spend their little nest egg, but Bobby figures they'll spend some of it on some traveling in the near future.

Bobby and Lilly traveled to Connecticut, and Lilly met Bobby's family for the first time. After much ribbing about him marrying a model, everyone got along wonderfully. Lilly kept up her end of the bargain as well, cutting back her traveling for modeling. While visiting the US, Lilly met the menagerie of pets who live at Bobby's parents' house. Once they returned to Scotland, Lilly managed to acquire a young guinea pig they named Mowgli. Bobby has enjoyed having a pet in the house, even teaching Mowgli some tricks.

This year, Bobby was in a car accident and had to have his left leg amputated. It took several months to recover, but he is now using a prosthetic leg and gets around nearly as well as he did prior to his accident. Lilly took time off from modeling to help Bobby recover. She isn't planning to return to modeling as she did before, but did get a position within a clothing design company.

Bobby had another little accident this year--he got a new prosthetic and fell while attempting to use it--he didn't break anything--just a nasty abrasion on his right elbow. Lilly made him promise to be more careful!

Lilly got sick this year--she had a nasty flu bug and needed to be hospitalized for three days after it turned into pneumonia. Lilly doesn't think she's ever been so sick in her life, but is glad to be fully recovered now. Bobby, fortunately, was spared the illness, but took care of Lilly while she was convalescing.

Mowgli the guinea pig passed away this year at the age of four, after a full and happy life. Despite trying for the past several years, Bobby and Lilly have been unable to have children. They discussed their options and, with Bobby's newest posting in the United States and likely to last for the next several years, decided to pursue adoption. They decided to pursue adopting an older child, as their agency suggested there might be a faster process. They were matched with 14-year-old Rosa Alexandra from El Salvador. She joined their family in October, only eight months after starting the process.

This year, Lilly broke her foot--after six months in a boot, everything seems healed up, but it took her awhile to learn to get around. Rosa, now 15, is slowly adjusting to life in the US. She and Bobby have bonded, particularly because Bobby speaks fluent Spanish. Lilly doesn't speak much Spanish, and her relationship with Rosa is a little rockier. Rosa misses her home country, but is very grateful to Bobby and Lilly for adopting her and giving her the opportunity to come to America.

Bobby has spent the last ten years in the field studying subjects for his company, and now he has been promoted! His new job is in a supervisory role and requires much less travel. Rosa turned sixteen this year and, apart from the typical teenage conflicts, is developing well and has learned a lot of English over the past year. She has several friends--many of them speak Spanish as their first language, but she is starting to make friends with native English speakers as well.

She and Rosa quickly became close friends, despite their age difference. People tend to mistake them for sisters, even now, though to Bobby and Lilly they look nothing alike.
