You sign up, and then in each round you're given a child/children, and you have to name them according to whatever the criteria are; sometimes you'll get a list to pick from, sometimes you'll have initials... it varies.
Usually the sign up form looks something like this:
DH:
DW:
Multiples?
Rounds?
So you name both the parents, indicate whether you want multiples (twins or triplets, usually; saying you want them doesn't guarantee that you'll get them, though) and how many rounds you want to play. It's pretty simple.
