Eric and Micaela were married six weeks ago. They met sixteen years ago, when Micaela's family moved to Cleveland. Eric grew up there. He followed his father's footsteps and graduated from the police academy a few years ago. Micaela took some classes at the community college and has loved baking for as long as she can remember. She is employed as a pastry chef for a small specialized pastry business. The two of them are living in a studio apartment in downtown Cleveland, but are saving up to move into a townhome in a nicer area.
Year 1: career--pay raise

Eric has been working hard over the past few years, and got a pay raise this year as well as some extra responsibilities at the station. It isn't an official promotion, but he and Micaela are enjoying the extra money--they nearly have enough for that townhouse!

Though money is a little tight, Eric and Micaela still manage to set aside some money towards that townhouse--which they're hoping to purchase once Micaela lands a new job.
Year 3: pay cut/hours cut

Eric and Micaela had quite a year! In January, Eric was promoted to lieutenant, along with a raise in pay. The two of them moved into their long-awaited townhouse in March. In April, Micaela found out she was pregnant. In July, Eric and Micaela opened their home to one of Eric's rookie coworkers who didn't have anywhere else to go. Then, in late December, Eric and Micaela's firstborn son, Eli, was born. He was premature, and spent two weeks in the NICU, but was released to go home with no lasting effects--at least not that they know.

Just when they thought things were settling into a routine, Micaela found out she was expecting again. Then, at a routine ultrasound a few weeks later, Eric and Micaela were shocked to learn that Micaela was carrying twins! Neither one of them have twins in the family, and that was the last thing they were expecting. Eric also got a promotion this year--instead of being a general lieutenant, he was promoted into a more specialized investigative unit. He loves the work, even if it does mean more time away from home on occasion. Jason still lives with them, and has become a bit of a fixture, though he is seriously dating a young woman. On December 2nd, Micaela gave birth to twin boys, Ryan and Kyle Moore! The boys were healthy and able to go home just three days after arriving in the world. Eli is curious about the boys, but doesn't really understand they're his brothers.
