Theo and Viv met in grad school in Michigan, right after graduation they permanently moved to Costa Rica for Theo's job. Theo is a agricultural researcher, who specializes in making coffee farming practices more efficient and sustainable. Viv studied English and Spanish, and works as a freelance writer for various magazines and websites. She also has a blog which discusses culture, language, and the expat lifestyle.
YEAR 1
DD/DD/DS/DS: Eden Rose / Eleanore Colette / Everett Gray / Edison Percival
Theo and Viv were surprised to find that they were expecting quadruplets. They were naturally nervous about parenting four children at the same time, but are in love with the babies and are learning and adjusting quite naturally.

Theo's research has been published in a major agricultural journal. He has booked several speaking jobs all over the world, this coupled with an invitation to lecture at the local university has helped the family tremendously.

The kids were so excited to have a little brother. Theo and Viv have found caring for just one baby at a time to be much easier.
YEAR 6
Vivienne's grandmother passed away and left her quite a bit of money. Viv has decided to put the money toward the kids college fund.
YEAR 7

YEAR 8
One of Vivienne's cousins contested their grandmother's will and had engaged the family in a legal battle over their claim to the inheritance money.
YEAR 9
Wanting to spend more time with the family, Theo has resigned from the University and is moving back into hands on research. The family is moving from San Jose to the remote seaside town Manuel Antonio. Vivienne won the inheritance battle.
YEAR 10
Theo and Viv's parents are aging, and they want their children to be able to see their grandparents more often. So the family has made the hard decision to return to the US. The family loves the seaside and has moved to Virginia Beach to be near the water. Theo's work still requires him to make occasional trips to Costa Rica, and the kids hope to visit often.
YEAR 11
Viv decided to change career directions completely. Her blog ran it's course as she is no longer an expat, and maintaining enough freelance work was challenging. She has accepted a job at a local charity that helps place immigrants into jobs. She works mostly with Spanish speaking peoples.
YEAR 12
Theo's dad passed away and leaves him and the grandkids a modest amount of money.
YEAR 13
The quads are officially teens! This year Eden made it onto kids Jeopardy and won one round! She came home with a couple thousand dollars.
YEAR 14
August nearly drowns in a pool accident, and spends a few days in the hospital. He gave everyone in the family a good scare.
YEAR 15
Going against the will of her parents, Eleanore begins dating a senior. Shortly after beginning the relationship, she discovers she is pregnant. Jack's parents do not approve and were pressuring him and Eleanore to abort the baby. Eleanore decides to keep the baby, and Jack wants to be involved in the baby's life.

YEAR 16
Once again Eleanore is expecting. Just after her birthday she and Jack married in a simple ceremony with her family present. Jack's parents were not in attendance. Before having the baby a couple months later, Eleanore gets her GED.

Jack and Eleanore adopt a dog.

YEAR 18
The rest of the quads graduate high school. The entire family spends a month and a half passing around the flu. Yuck!
YEAR 19
Jack finishes culinary school and takes a job as a chef. Eden, Edison, and Everett finish their first year of college.
YEAR 20
Theo's mother comes to live with them. One of Viv's co-workers passed away from cancer. Having no close family she left her six year old son to Theo and Viv.
