Tuppence’s surname Quick, from OE cwic, means “alive” so Idony & Silas decided to give their daughter a first name also meaning “alive”. They loved Vivian, which also shared the first letter of Tup’s middle name, Virginia, sealing the deal. They chose her middle name, Betony, loving the flora association and that it harkened back to her mother’s name, Idony, in style.
