There have been so many changes to the Priddy family, it has been difficult to keep up.
Sadly, two years ago, Nat Priddy passed away in his sleep. This left the money-lending enterprise in the hands of his capable widow, Vita; their son, Will; and his older brother Owen, who had lessened his ale intake and seemed to be regaining some of the sharpness of his youth. Will, for his part, married the lovely Athena, and they now had two daughters. Victoria and her husband had two more children, and Matthew was courting a young Dutch lady. And Owen tried to repair his relationship with his own two daughters; oddly enough it was Hester, the one he had effectively "disowned" for not playing along with the plans he had for her, who reciprocated communication. Through this reestablishment of connection, Owen has gotten to know his six grandchildren through her (he unfortunately never met little Abraham). It was Prissy, who bore two more children, who refused to speak to her father again, resentment having built up considerably.
Both Dieter and Bas married their sweethearts, and Bas' goldsmithy is up and running. Dieter & Hera have three daughters, and Bas & Meg have two daughters and a son. Thus they carry on the next generation of Sourds (in England), though there are still no new Priddys through this branch - although that can change in the near future, since Sabine just got married to her half-Spanish sweetheart, Christopher Dafoe.
Nell & Cornelis' family has gone through the most turbulent changes. Jo has been plagued with tragedy - quite literally, in fact. His beloved Andreina and daughter Teresa succumbed to consumption, and one year later little Claudia followed, leaving Jo and Natalia healthy but alone. Speculation in the neighborhood spread that they were vampires, and within the last year the city watch had to intervene to aid them against a mob accusing them of vampirism and witchcraft. Despite these spurious accusations, Jo as obtained a post at Cambridge University, and relocated to Cambridge with his surviving daughter. Meanwhile, Anselm's life has turned a full 360 degrees: little Fleur died, and in response Armelle completely disconnected from him, and actually tried to run off with an Occitan merchant named Félicien Vicario - and to take Juno with them! Luckily Anselm was able to stop this with legal intervention, and he tried to win his wife back. Unfortunately, Armell chose Félicien, and this time she left Juno with Anselm before returning with Félicien to Nice, France. The last Anselm heard, Armelle had two children with Félicien and was enjoying her new life. But Anselm recently remarried a Dutch widow with her own two sons, Kit and Pete. They get along well enough with Juno, but Juno struggles with abandonment issues / fears.
Alton married his Cornish girl, and Jennifer and he now have two children, Belle and Hugh. Arend's Spaniard returned to Spain without him, but he quickly found a Norman girl, Capucine, and married her; and they have a daughter, Beatrice. Ursula, for her part, is being courted by her own Spanish gentleman.
Titus & Nora have two more children, Christopher and Roz, while Maud ("Isa") & Radboud have not added any more children to their family, the financial prospects of a playwright precarious enough.
