The last five years have brought drastic, drastic changes to the Priddy family. For one, the face that launched 1000 ships launched herself back to France in the end, so Ben was alone once more. But he wasn't alone for very long. An Alsatian widow who spoke broken English, had relocated to London some time after her husband's death with a sizable fortune - enough to open up her own establishment: a pub, the Roebuck. Ben became a patron early into its establishment, and got to know the proprietress well. Very well. In 1610 they were married, and fewer than nine months after the wedding the twins, Sabine and Gustave, were born! Everyone thought it was hilarious that an identical twin had fraternal twins, and jokingly cautioned Verena against another pregnancy. But she did have another son, Mark. Her two older children, Dieter and Barnabas Sourd, adjusted well to English life in all its variances from Alsace; and their English has improved at a greater rate than their mother's.Nat and Vita had two more children, Matthew and Norbert, and Nat had fully taken the reins from his retired father. In the year of Norbert's birth, Antigone sadly passed away, leaving Paul heartbroken and leaning on his children for support - particularly the older ones. Also during this time, Nell met a Belgian widower merchant - widowed twice, actually. Cornelis' second wife was English, which was why he remained in England rather than return to Brussels, and brought up his five sons there. Nell had never thought she could feel this way about a man again. This wasn't like when she was young, though, being swept away. They were adults. They were grounded, close to the earth in their certainty. The Priddies were overjoyed that Nell was allowing herself to branch out, to marry and live independently of them. She became a devoted stepmother to Timo & Jo (from Cornelis' first marriage) and Anselm, Alton, & Arend (from the second). Timo himself was a man grown, just starting at the University of Leipzig. Cornelis and Nell have a daughter together, little Ursula. With Nell marrying and leaving, and Titus starting at the University of Oxford (a scholar in the making), Paul was left alone with young Maud. Owen offered to have them move into his estate with his daughters, so Paul sold the Covent Garden residence and moved with Maud into the estate in Kensington. The status of the deceased Viola Streete Priddy's dowry is still in legal limbo.***Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381
