Two deaths, two weddings and three new children happened in the MacShuibhne family in the past five years. Philip's wife Martha passed away following the difficult birth of their second child leaving him alone to care for their two kids. Her younger sister Frances offered to help Philip with Horace and Philippa, a help that he gladly accepted. One thing led to another and the two of them were married shortly after first anniversary of Martha's death. Not long after their wedding Desmond passed away peacefully in his sleep, Philip becoming the 7th Earl of Essex and taking over the family estates determined to make his late father proud. While there was no suitable groom found for Rosalind yet, Margaret got married shortly after her sixteenth birthday to an Austrian-Italian noble Alessandro d'Este, the couple lives in Paris where they raise their son Nicodème. Meanwhile the family estate in England gained two more pairs of little feet after Frances gave birth to a daughter named Lavinia eighteen months ago and a son named Humphrey two months ago.
