Dylan and Ashley were thrilled to finally have their two sons at home, although the transition period hasn't been the easiest for any of them. The older one, Zakariya or Zak as he is usually referred to, found it really hard to settle in his new surroundings. He would bump into things, got lost in the house and got easily frustrated due to this, it took several weeks and lots of effort from the whole family to teach him to navigate the unfamiliar territory. Once he was able to move freely his true personality came out in full force, he is sweet, creative, funny and witty. The only time when he is not talking is when he is asleep or when his little brother, whom he loves to pieces, is. He is still clumsy and gets easily lost in unfamiliar surroundings, but Dylan and Ashley are working with him on all his challenges. Rasim took the transition a lot easier than his older brother. He is a sweet affectionate little boy and got quickly attached to Ashley. He could get distracted quite easily, so both Ashley and Dylan try not to overstimulate him. He started walking shortly after he moved in and is babbling his first words.
Dylan and Ashley agreed on an open adoption with the boys and regularly send updates to the boys' father who was placed into a nursing home following his release from hospital. They are planning to take the boys to visit him during the Easter. Their mother is sadly still comatose following the accident and the doctors are not very optimistic about her future.
