In my wildest dreams I couldn't have imagined this. When I left Sweden about two years ago, I thought I'd never see Alex again. Ever.
And now I'm standing here, wearing my wedding-dress, Daddy on my side and ready for the churchdoor to be opened. Oh god, I'm so excited! In less than an hour I'll be Mrs. Katie Grace MacKay. Thank god that I had the courage to call Alex that New Year's Eve!
I just couldn't get him out of my mind. I tried, though, but I couldn't. I had so much fun that night down at the bar, and I wanted to see him again. When he hadn't called by New Year's Eve, I finally took heart to call him. Well, and that's where everything began... we started to go out from that day on, and step by step we fell in love - although both of us new that we hadn't much time. Two month later I had to go back to the US. I knew Alex couldn't come with me, his job made him stay in Sweden. My heart broke when we parted, and I missed him like hell from the minute my plane left the airport.
Back home I interviewed for a job as a teacher at different highschools and did everything to forget Alex. Until... well, until the day he suddenly stood in front of my door. I couldn't trust my eyes, but it really was him! He gave everything up, his job, his friends - everything, just to come here and see me again. To cut a long story short: From that moment on we both knew we were made for each other. Alex got the opportunity to work as chief director at a restaurant in Hartford, Conneticut, and we moved into a small but lovely flat above the restaurant. Oh, by the way, I'm a teacher by now! I got a job at the local Highschool, but I think I'll have to take a break soon... =))
Two month after Alex proposed I had to see my dressmaker... She had to let my wedding-dress out: I'm expecting a baby! It wasn't yet planned to have a baby, but Alex and I are so glad! We don't know wether it'll be a boy or a girl, so we had to find two names: They'll be Bastian Shea for a boy and Kerry Rosalyn for a girl.
Ok, got to go now... I can hear the organ... wait, where are the flowers? Oh, there they are, thank you, Daddy! Let's go then... everyone's waiting. Here comes the bride! =))
PS: Alex and I decided to spend our honeymoon at home... two weeks ago we found the house we always dreamed of! It's down at the shore, really old and a little shabby, but I'm sure that, if we work hard, we can make it a most beautiful home for us and the little one!

Katie is 23 years old and just left college where she majored in History of Arts. She's also got a minor degree in Literature and wishes to be a highschool teacher some day. By now she's enjoying her "freedom" on a trip through europe.
Katie grew up as the oldest of 3 sisters in Providence, Rhode Island, where she had a wonderful childhood and youth. The tall girl with curly black hair and stunning green eyes still is a real "family girl", there wouldn't ever be a single Holiday she'd miss to be at home with her loved ones!
So, this year it's really hard for her being alone in Sweden around christmas...
Well... but there's another "lonely soul" out there! Katie met Ethan Alexander MacKay, called Alex, on christmas eve at a bar in Stockholm. He's 24 years old and works as a cook, but he's dreaming of running his own restaurant some day. The tall and handsome young man is from Ireland, where his Dad and his two older brothers still live with their familys (his mum died when he was a child). Alex had to work over the holidays, so he couldn't fly home to see his family.
So when Katie and Alex met, both homesick and alone, they immideately related to each other. Katie liked his warm smile and the fact that Alex could make her laugh at any time, and he was faszinated by this chaotic and spirited girl, that wasn't able to eat cheesecake without dropping half of it but could describe a scene so colorful that he felt like having been there with her.
It's now New Year's Eve and Katie is going to return to the states in less than 3 month. She hasn't seen Alex since that day at the bar, but she hopes to meet him again...
