Ashley, a lawyer, and Katrina, a neurosurgeon, were legally married two years ago, but have been together since their early twenties. For years they've unsuccessfully tried for a baby via IVF but after several failed efforts decided to adopt instead. That's how they ended up with a sibling set of four kids aged nine to thirteen that no one else wanted to adopt. Sunny, Rachel, Phoenix and Elissa were taken from their abusive parents two years prior the adoption unfortunately there was no one willing to adopt a sibling group so they went from one foster family to another before ending in Ashley and Katrina's home. It took months before the kids finally understood that this was their home and they would never be forced to leave it, since that moment they have blossomed in the new environment. The oldest Sunny is already twenty and relocated to Michigan two years ago where she studies urban planning at MU. Rachel has recently graduated high school, facing several learning disabilities this was a big and proud moment for her and her family. She has recently started her own Etsy business as she is very artsy. Ashley and Katrina had always encouraged her to go and study painting, and she is finally opening up to the idea. Phoenix, the only boy is in his senior year of high school, he is talented baseball player and has already been offered a sport scholarship from UCLA which he is considering to take. Elissa, the youngest one and junior in high school had always loved literature and drama. She has landed the main role in school play this year and is very proud of it.
