Farran and Elaina met at university, which seems like a lifetime ago now that they’ve been married for almost 22 years and have four children! Farran is an architect and Elaina was a career mom for a long time, but now that the kids are older she’s recently gone to work at a friend’s florist shop, where she can exercise her creative side. Their kids are an intelligent and witty bunch who like to give each other nicknames and play the occasional practical joke. The oldest, Jared, is studying fine woodworking and would like to have his own business making artisan furniture when he gets done with school. Findlay is tolerating secondary school and isn’t sure what he wants to do for a career yet. Catriona has an artistic flair, but of the more dramatic side. She loves to dance, and enjoys making impromptu theatre performances for her family (when they’ll tolerate it). Elspeth, the youngest, loves books and animals and is determined to be a veterinarian some day.
