Re: Ceevie's Build-A-Family Round 2
LN: Campbell
DH: Matthew Dylan "Matt"
DW: Erin NiamhAfter dating for two and a half years, Matt and I finally got married! We are very much in love and had a great wedding. It was a traditional wedding at Matt's church. People from both sides of our family came as well as friends. I'm grateful that we had no wedding mishaps. Friends of mine were bridesmaids, since I have no sisters and no female cousins who are old enough. Matt's younger brother was his best man, but my brothers were also up by the altar. When Matt and I exchanged vows and the minister prounounced us married, it was the best feeling I've ever had in my life.
For our honeymoon, we decided to go to Colorado. I love horses and insisted that our honeymoon be at least partially spent on horseback. Matt, however, had never been on a horse. He liked backpacking though, and figured it would be okay. Matt and I each got nice docile horses and we got really attatched to them by the end of our horseback riding/camping trip honeymoon. Unconventional, yes; but it was well worth it and we both had a great time!
Since our apartments were only a few doors away from each other, I moved in with Matt while we went looking for either a bigger apartment or a little house. We stored all of Matt's extra stuff in my apartment and moved some of my stuff into his apartment. This arrangement didn't last for long. Within two months, we found a nice little house with three bedrooms. Matt and I both fell in love with the little house, although it does need some work. First order of business was painting and putting in new carpet. After doing that, we did some major reorganizing and redecorating. Around that time, I got an odd sort of job offer from a newspaper.
I was to tackle all sorts of major events and happenings, but report them in a way that would interest children. It's for a children's section of the newspaper. It looked like a challenge, so I took the job. Another thing I have to do is special interest pieces for the children's section (ie, "Is Food In The Cafeteria Really That Bad?" and "Top Rated Video Games"). I really like the job and once a month or so, Matt wants to let me come in a read a special article to his class of fourth grader's. I'm surprised how enthusiastic he is about all this.
Big news! About four months ago (two months after moving into our house) I discovered that I was expecting a baby! I told Matt and he got really excited. For about a week and a half, all he could talk about was the baby. He has been gentlemanly to the point of annoyance--not even letting me pick up a full gallon of milk. Maybe we'll have to go to some kind of therapist, but hopefully he'll lay off soon. The worst is over for now. I had pretty bad morning sickness but its gone now and I say 'Good Riddance!'. I haven't had any of those strange cravings yet, but I have been eating more chocolate than before. Matt and I have discussed names and we each have two names that we're partial to. For me, its Elijah Shane and Clare Tatiana. For Matt, its Kenneth Joseph and Jaden Melantha. We haven't agreed on what the baby's name should be, but I figure we still have a few months to work all that out.
