Year 0
Anna Rose Schultz-Roth, 27 has just accepted a new job offer working for National Geographic, and she could not be more thrilled. She has always adored traveling, and now she gets to pursue her dream job doing just that, and she can't wait to get out of her tiny apartment for a while! Her new husband, Sgt. Benjamin James "Ben" Roth, 28, is currently serving in the Middle East, but Anna hopes to return from her first assignment by the time his tour is over.
Anna has curly blonde hair and hazel eyes, and Ben has curly brown hair (although it has to be buzzed right now) and dark brown eyes.
Year 1
Ben has returned from his tour of duty and has decided to pursue an offer for a government job, meaning the couple must move to Washington, DC. Both Ben and Anna are excited about seeing the nation's capital, not to mention moving out of their little apartment and into a single family home!
Year 2
Because Anna travels so often for work, Ben decided to adopt a dog to keep him company. His new buddy is his favorite breed, a German Shepherd, and is a retired bomb-sniffing dog named Ranger. Anna absolutely adores Ranger and wishes she could be around more to spend time with him... and Ben of course.
Year 3
Ben's younger brother from Philly, Nick, moves in temporarily after he loses his job. Anna thinks he's a great man, but he's a lot younger than Ben and isn't exactly the most responsible person. Luckily he moves out before she's had her fill.
Year 4
After several years of treatments, Anna is able to conceive twins, a boy and a girl. Anna and Ben decide to name their new babies William Joseph and Eloise Frances. William and Eloise are fraternal twins- William has a full head of straight brown hair and hazel eyes, while Eloise has wavy blond hair and green eyes. Anna and Ben are absolutely thrilled with their new family.
Year 5
Anna decides to quit her job to take care of the babies, and although she misses work, she believes it's the best decision she's ever made.
Year 6
A violent snowstorm hits the Northeast, but luckily the Roths are relatively unaffected. The snow is taller than the twins!
Year 7
Ben loses his job but is not discouraged. Always a go-getter, he decides to pursue operating a small online business out of his home and after a few months of struggling, it begins to take off. Anna is considering going back to work now that Ben is home, but she knows he doesn't have time to take care of the kids. Besides, she enjoys having the whole family home all day.
Year 8
Ben decides to go back to school at Georgetown to get his MBA in order to be more efficient in his work.
Year 9
Five years after the twins are born, Anna gives birth to a baby girl, Lydia Evangeline. Baby Lydia has wavy blond hair like her sister and hazel eyes like her brother. William and Eloise are ecstatic to finally be big brother and sister, and tell all their friends at school about their new little sister.
Year 10
Anna and Ben celebrate their ten year anniversary! Ben surprises Anna and gets her a special anniversary gift: a two month old kitten! At first Anna is a bit worried about taking care of a kitten on top of two six year olds and a one year old on top of, but little Daisy is too cute to resist.
Year 11
The Roths soon realize that although Ranger is okay company for little Daisy, she'd prefer another feline to keep her company. It's actually Eloise that convinces Anna and Ben to adopt another cat, this time a full grown kitty the kids name Lily.
Year 12
Ben takes up a job with a local start-up and sells his business, and that money comes in handy when William receives knee surgery after a soccer injury.
Year 13
Now that the kids are a bit older (9 and 4), Anna begins to want another baby. Her and Ben agree on adoption after hearing about a friend's wonderful experience adopting a child from China. The family welcomes a 2 year old boy from France, Louis Baptiste. Louis was raised in a foster care system that primarily spoke English, although he does know a few French words... however, being a two year old, he doesn't know many words in any language.
Year 14
Nick moves back in after a rough breakup... the kids love Uncle Nick, but Ben is a bit tired of his shenanigans.
Year 15
Ben's old business wins an award!
Year 16
The family takes an incredible vacation to Paris! 5 year old Louis is especially excited to see the place he came from, as he doesn't remember much from foster care.
Year 17
Nick (finally) gets married! Hannah Elizabeth is a lovely young lady who seems to know how to keep Nick in check.
Year 18
Now that Louis is in school full time, Anna decides to go back to work, this time as a nurse (her degree was actually in nursing with a minor in communications).
Year 19
Anna decides to go back to school for a little refresher on nursing, as she hasn't been anywhere near the medical field in over 20 years.
Year 20
The 16 year old twins receive their driver's licenses, but to their dismay, must share a car. Anna had been worrying about this day since the twins were born, but it seems to work out well as William is often given rides by his friends. Unfortunately, William is injured in a car crash when his friend is t-boned by an ignorant driver. Luckily he survives, although the car is totaled and he has two broken ribs. After a while in the hospital and with the help of his sisters and brother, he makes a full recovery. He decides to start saving up for his own car.
