On a warm day in the spring, the Moore girls decided to make a lunch date at their favorite bistro. As they waited for their food to come, Jenna, Kelly, and Rosalind all shared the latest about their personal lives. Unbeknownst to any of the three sisters, they all had very similar news.
“I have a very awkward story to tell y’all,” Jenna said nervously, twisting her curly blond hair. “Do you remember me mentioning Ryan?”
Kelly’s eyes lit up; she did remember. “Are you talking about that guy who always contributes to your Podcast?” she asked, and then it hit her. “You hooked up with him, didn’t you?!”
“Are you pregnant, Jenna?” Rosalind chimed in.
Jenna slowly nodded. “We’re not even boyfriend/girlfriend yet, just friends with benefits. Do you think Ryan will be okay with this? What about our boss? I mean, I’ve heard you’re not supposed to have a relationship with a coworker. What do I do?”
“You make my predicament seem normal,” Kelly remarked. “Remember how Jason and I were planning to divorce?”
“Yeah,” Jenna and Rosalind chorused.
“Well, when he came over to sign the last of the paperwork, we kinda…” Kelly looked down at the table, unsure of how to break her news.
“You had sex,” Rosalind guessed.
“Two pink lines, girls. I’m pregnant.”
“You shitting me! So am I!”
“Really?” Jenna asked, her eyes wide.
“Yeah, but I’m not sure how to feel about it. See, when I was on that trip to Moscow, I accidentally took my birth control at the wrong time because of the time change.”
“And then you had sex and ended up with a bun in your oven,” Kelly finished.
“Exactly! I don’t know what to do, because I don’t even have his number or any contact info for him! All I know is, his name is Victor.” Rosalind put her head down to sob into her arms, and Jenna laid a hand on her elbow in comfort.
“It’ll be fine, sis,” she soothed. “Kate Gosselin is currently raising eight kids on her own, and this is only your first pregnancy. Besides, you can always lean on us for help; that’s what sisters are for!”
Rosalind sniffled and blew her nose on a tissue. “Thanks, y’all.”
After lunch, Jenna volunteered to call their parents to tell them the shocking news. Mr. and Mrs. Moore were both shocked but happy for all three of their daughters, and Mr. Moore was pleased to hear that Kelly and Jason wouldn’t be divorcing.
Jenna’s boss reacted to her news with a lecture on forming outside-of-work relationships with coworkers, which Jenna took to heart. The boss’s attitude changed, however, when he saw how in love Jenna was with Ryan and vice versa.
Since their spontaneous sex session, Kelly and Jason have talked it out, and Jason promised to never be unfaithful again and to accept his responsibility as a father.
After seeking advice from family, friends, and even an online parenting forum, Rosalind decided to keep her baby and find a way to raise it on her own. After all, her sisters are only one call away.

All three pregnancies and births have gone smoothly, despite Rosalind’s baby, a little boy she named Gunnar, having to be treated for jaundice and Jenna’s daughter, Cordelia, being diagnosed with colic at two months old. The delivery of Kelly’s baby girl, named Iris after Kelly’s favorite flower, also had a slight complication—Iris was situated in a breech position, but Kelly was told this was fairly common and was very fixable. Now, the children are all happy and healthy, and each of the Moore sisters are getting off to a great start with motherhood.
