The family had just moved into their new house and Kaia was just 34 weeks and 5 days pregnant when she developed pre-eclampsia and the family's fourth child and second daughter, Louise Alice nicknamed Lula, had to be born via emergency c-section. She was immediately whisked off to NICU. Up to this day, both Bennett and Kaia feel uneasy when they recolect seeing their daughter for the first time behind the glass of incubator, hooked up to machines and with tubes coming from her tiny body. Despite the rought start to life their baby girl turned out to be a fighter, within a week after she was born she was breathing on her own, holding her body temperature and feeding like a champ. A week later after graduating NICU and gaining some weight she was released from hospital and joined her parents and older siblings at home. Liam, Xander and Posey were all excited to have their baby sister at home, Liam even refused to go to school on that day something that was unthinkable for his parents as he normally loves school and hates the weekends. Lula is now five months old and is slowly catching up with her peers, although at 13 lbs 4 oz she is still a peanut her doctor does not expect any further complications from her premature birth. Kaia is also doing fine, but the other day she only half-jokingly said to Bennett that no matter what Lula was their last baby.
