During a spring lunch, celebrating that for a short time Tilda was again in town, it turned out that what seemed only as a wishful thinking for Thea and Lulu and distant future for Tilda was going to become reality for all three of them. They were all pregnant and all due within a month from each other. The sisters closed a pact during the lunch to always be there for each other and support each other as for different reasons all three of them were planning to raise their children alone. What they feared the most was the reaction of their conservative parents. Becoming grandparents to three (as it later turned four) grandchildren and neither of them having its father in its life was certainly not what they expected from their daughters. As expected Anthony's and Mary's reaction to the news was less then enthusiastic, but over the months before their grandchildren were born they came to terms with everything and fully support their daughters and grandchildren.
Thea was not counting with a baby when she started hooking up with Neil Grant, frequent contributor to her podcast. She was past the stage where she was seriously looking for a guy and their friends with benefits relationship worked just fine for her. Until that one evening when they had one too many glasses of red and forgot all about protection. The result of the night was clear two weeks later, Thea was pregnant. Neil panicked when she shared the news with him and offered to pay for abortion if Thea decided to have one. Thea just stared at him blankly upon hearing his words and basically threw him out of her apartment as soon as she came back to her senses. She didn't needed someone like him in her life and in her child's life, she could do this alone. Despite her age and pregnancy that was labeled high risk, the following months were pretty uneventful. Thea continued with her work and the only thing that changed in her life was the guest bedroom that was changed into gender neutral nursery, with lots of grey, blue and yellow, as she opted not to find the gender of the baby.
Lulu's story would not surprisingly fit into any novel. When Nick came with the last round of paperwork, Lulu somehow forgot all the bad things that happened since their marriage and old sentiments came alive. The two of them ended in bed that night. The next morning Nick was gone much to her relief as she immediately regretted the night. A month later after what she brushed off firstly as bad case of flu, she found out that Nick left her a little reminder of him, well in fact two. She was pregnant, as she weeks later found out with twins. She made no effort to contact Nick and share the news with him. He was not someone she wanted to raise her children with, even if they were his children as well. Luckily for her weeks later she found out that Nick moved out of town, she hasn't seen him since, this chapter of her life closed for good. Unlike Thea, Lulu suffered with horrible morning sickness pretty much the whole pregnancy and missed a lot of work, if it wasn't for her parents and sisters she wouldn't even have everything ready for her two boys.
Tilda was still in Spain when she met Olaf, a hunky Swedish guy and a fellow traveler with whom she spent a steamy night in a hostel in Valencia. She didn't even know his name so when she found out weeks later that she was pregnant it was clear that the baby will never know its father. After going through her options, Tilda finally decided to return home to raise her baby. She moved in back with her parents, something she regretted instantly as they were driving crazy, and found a job in local bakery. Her pregnancy was uneventful and the daily job was driving her crazy, but she felt that at this point of life she needed her family so she went with it.
It was now December and the whole family was excitedly awaiting the new additions. Despite being due last, Lulu was the first to give birth. Her identical twin boys were born on December 1st after an emergency C-section at 37 weeks. Both boys were whisked away to NICU and spent the first day of their life there. Luckily there were no complications and they were reunited with their mamma a day later. Lulu decided to name her sons Henry Storm and James True, names she had loved for a long time. Tilda gave birth a week later, exactly on her due date. Her son Magni George was born with head full of blond hair and the biggest blue eyes she had ever seen. She chose the name Magni because it meant strong and sounded Scandinavian and George to honor his grandfather who was Tilda's rock during the pregnancy. Thea was the last to give birth, only two days before Christmas her daughter was born. She named her little girl Cecilia Ivy and affectionately calls the little one Cece most of the time.
It took a bit of time but each of the sisters is adjusting to the parenthood in their own way. Thea is still pursuing her career in blogging and producing podcast, luckily her profession is easily combined with taking care of her baby. Luckily for her Cece is an easy baby who loves to sleep, is content around people and rarely cries so she can bring her daughter with her pretty much everywhere. Lulu is taking time off from work, single parenting twins turned out to be quite a challenge. Ever since they were born Lulu didn't catch a break, having at least one baby attached to her boob constantly, both boys being colicky is also not helping the situation. Luckily Mary and Anthony are around helping with their grandsons. Motherhood for Tilda turned out to be a breeze and she was soon bored with the quiet life she has been leading. When Magni was two months old she packed their bags and left the parents house. The two of them traveling to France, she is now working a seasonal job in a family owned vinery but is already planning her next adventure.
