As much as they love their daughters, Felix and Jess have been praying for a baby boy, and they finally got their wish! They were so thrilled that, when it came time to pick the name, they let Annabelle choose. She insisted right away on Casper, after her favorite movie; Jess then modified the name to Jasper, which she (Jess) liked better. Annabelle liked that suggestion, so it stuck. Jasper’s middle name, Conrad, is honoring Jess’s maternal grandpa who died when she was a little girl.
Annabelle is in love with her baby brother, always asking to help with him. Violet is the same way, and she loves to snuggle with Jess as she nurses Jasper. As for Blake, he’s just as curious about Jasper as he was about Violet. He’s also very well-behaved around him; he’s been trained to wait for a command before he can interact with Jasper.
A typical day starts at 6 am, which is when Felix needs to get up for work. Felix is pretty fast when it comes to getting ready, so by the time he’s all set, 6:45, he has time to kiss the kids goodbye; Jess is now also up and giving Jasper his morning nursing. When she finishes, Jess burps Jasper, puts him back to bed for a few hours, and wakes the girls up. Violet is usually already up and playing with her toys, but it takes some coaxing to get Annabelle out of bed. Jess dresses both of them, takes them downstairs, and lets them play together while she fixes breakfast, normally consisting of eggs, toast, and cereal.
After breakfast, it’s time to take Annabelle to preschool, so Jess gathers all three kids, loads up the car, and heads towards Annabelle’s school to drop her off. She tells Annabelle to have a good day and that Daddy will pick her up after he’s done teaching.
Immediately upon returning home, Jess takes Blake for his morning walk, which usually lasts a good twenty minutes. Then, she puts a kiddie show on for Violet, usually Sofia the First, and gives Jasper another nursing while she watches with Violet.
It’s just Jess, Violet, Jasper, and the dog until 3 pm when Felix comes back with Annabelle. Annabelle always has something to share, whether it’s a new drawing she made or something interesting that happened. Felix spends an hour or two playing with the kids, and they all sit down for dinner at around six.
At seven thirty, it’s time for the girls to go to bed, so if it’s a bath night, Jess runs a bubble bath for them. After the bath, she helps them get into their pajamas, brush their teeth, and reads them a bedtime story before tucking them in.
