How do Generation CAFs work?
I don't understand what you have to do but I want to play some! How do they work? Any information would be accepted. Please tell me. ( I'm being really stupid I know that I should have worked it out but I can't. Help! )Emma.

I'm an awful explainer and kinda new to this, but basically, you're given a family with name options, i.e:
DH [70]: John Henry Michael William (Smith, Jones, Williams)
DW [72]: Olivia Mae Flora Jessica (Walker, Daniels, Freeman)
And you choose a first and middle name from the list of first names and a surname/maiden name as well. You generally get to choose the parents, children, and often grandchildren.
Sorry this wasn't very clear, if you need another explanation just ask!

That is a bit confusing. Well not really but sometimes I see a gap where there are no names. How do they work? And how do you know what numbers to put in the title?

The gaps where there are no names is where you fill in the name of a previous child. For example:DH [70]: Henry James Grey
DW [72]: Olivia Flora (Daniels) Grey
-DS [40]: Mark Oliver Grey
*****
-DS [40]:
-DW [41]: Louise Jane Martha Lizzie
That gap in bold is where you'd fill in Mark Oliver Grey. I think that's what you were confused about. I'm an awful explainer, I'm very sorry! I'm not quite sure what you mean by numbers in the title, but if you're talking about a title like "Generation CAF #12", that just means it's the twelfth generation CAF they've posted. Some people do that, others write the date in the title, but it's not always necessary.
