Just ten months after their wedding, Tera and Danny welcome their first child, a baby girl they named Aislin. Aislin will be the first female ruler of Ithasea someday, as Danny's father, King Grádaigh, passed legislation allowing a female heir during Tera's tumultuous pregnancy, as everyone was unsure of whether Tera would be able to survive the pregnancy, and if she did, whether she would be able to have another child. With the former legislation, the future of the Ithasean Kingdom would have been in jeopardy. Thankfully, the delivery was successful, and two months in, both mother and daughter are healthy.

Zenobia and Mathias have welcomed their first child, Prince Stephanos. The succession of the Kingdom is based on 'Porphyrogenitus', which means the first child born once Princess Zenobia becomes queen is more likely to inherit the throne than any child born before. Princess Zenobia has three older siblings, for example. An exception to this rule is if a) the regent has no children during their reign, in which case the oldest child inherits (this was the case for Zenobia's father) or b) the regent decides that an older child not born during their reign is a more suitable heir, in which case they can suspend the rule of succession and name that child their heir, but this is rare. The other princes and princesses often have very comfortable lives without the pressures of regency, so the only ones who protest this arrangement are often power-hungry (and hence probably not destined to be great leaders). Of course, there has been scandals and problems with the rule of succession in the past, but it's an ancient tradition which continues all the same.
As a result, Prince Stephanos is unlikely to ever become King Stephanos. Nonetheless, the birth is widely celebrated, and the little prince is named after his grandfather, the late King Stephanos II. Zenobia is delighted with her baby boy, but Prince Mathias would have been happier if his firstborn son could inherit the throne - as is the tradition in Edren. All the same, he knows he cannot challenge the traditions of his new home, so tries to make the most of the situation.

Messages of congratulations flood in from leaders all around the world. Héloïse and Ned, however, are keen to protect their son from the world for a couple of years, and limit his public appearances.
