DH: Matthew Alexander Thompson "Matt" (37)
DW: Violet Grace (Waite) Thompson (36)
DS: Joshua Henry Thompson "Josh" (9)
DS: Levi Benjamin Thompson (8)
DS: Isaiah Lucas Thompson (6)
DS: Ezra Chase Thompson (4)
DS: Silas Dylan Thompson (3)
DD: Sarah Faith Thompson (0)
After five boys, Matt and Violet welcomed their first little girl--Sarah Faith was born three weeks ago. She joins a motley crew of older boys who were all very interested to meet her.
Matt, 37, continues to work at the IT department of a large university. He continues to dabble in building and refurbishing computers, but also enjoys swimming, hiking, and taking his "men" camping each year.
Violet, 36, is viewed by many as a super-mom. After all, she has five boys to raise (and now a little girl too). She is usually busy teaching the boys, setting up playdates, or going grocery shopping.
Josh, 9, is in third grade. He is a kinesthetic learner, and loves when school assignments take him to the backyard or a hiking trail or allow him to build/create something. He plays soccer on a local elementary boys team.
Levi, 8, is also in third grade. He was ready for the academic demands of school about the same time Josh was, so Violet teaches them together. Levi is usually the brains behind any mischief he and his brothers get into, and Violet tries to give him safe outlets for his scheming. Levi plays soccer with Josh, but much prefers his time spent in their backyard tree fort inventing new things.
Isaiah, 6, is in first grade. He is still the most easygoing of the Thompson kids, and is a compassionate soul. He is the one making sure worms cross the sidewalk uninhibited and once kept a baby bird alive until it learned to fly away. Isaiah spends much of his time playing outdoor games with his brothers and is happiest when they are all together.
Ezra, 4, is a soft-spoken artist. When everyone else is outside playing in the tree fort, Violet will often find him at the kitchen table with his watercolors or coloring one of his many books. Ezra reminds Violet a lot of Levi, intellectually, but he doesn't seem to have the mischievous streak of his older brother and is content to follow the rules and not bother anyone else.
Silas, 3, is basically the opposite of Ezra, personality-wise. He is a ball of unfocused energy bouncing from thing to thing all day long. He keeps up quite well with his older brothers and would stay outside from dawn till dusk if Violet let him. He loves the gymnastic class they go to once a week.
